This makes sure you are left with the best possible result while also protecting both your natural hair and your extensions.

What happens during your appointment at Amaraa?
Your appointment begins with an in depth consultation where your personal stylist will assess your hair condition and discuss your hair goals.
From there we start with a pH balancing clarifying shampoo to remove any product buildup and prepare the hair to absorb the treatment properly.
Your hair is then dried completely before the keratin solution is applied in precise sections. Every strand is carefully coated to make sure the treatment is distributed evenly.
The solution then processes for around fifteen to thirty minutes while you relax in our lounge with a cocktail or barista made coffee.
Once processing is complete your stylist will dry and flat iron the hair in small sections to seal the keratin into the cuticle. This is the step that locks in all the smoothness and shine.
We will then finish off the treatment with your preferred styling and provide a detailed homecare routine.
An important thing to remember is that your hair must remain straight and unwashed for seventy two hours after your appointment to allow the treatment to fully set.
During that time, you should not tie your hair up or use any clips or hair ties. This will avoid any kinks or crinkles forming in your newly straightened hair.
What aftercare does a keratin treatment require?
The most important rule after a keratin treatment is to use only sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. Sulphates strip the keratin from the hair which will shorten the life of your results significantly.
You should also avoid exposing your hair to saltwater or chlorinated water as much as possible and avoid excessive heat beyond your normal styling routine.
The better you treat the hair in the weeks following your treatment the longer your results will last.
